Coping Mechanisms

Coping mechanisms are a combination of skills, abilities and competencies (i.e. capabilities) that we use to deal with the dynamics of our inner world, which frequently is triggered by outside stimuli that we are confronted with on a daily basis. Coping mechanisms represent our techniques and methods to handle stress, anxieties, dualities, fears, ignorance, uncertainty, confusion, expectations, desires, wants, needs, our goals, objectives, the present, the past, the future, changes, frustrations, …etc.

Coping mechanisms are predominantly subjective in nature and are often regarded - measured by modern day standards - as an irrational way of thinking.

Coping mechanisms (mainly sourcing from our values and life scripts) are extremely difficult to monitorplugin-autotooltip__small plugin-autotooltip_bigMonitor

To or monitoring imply observing and checking the progress standard and quality of ...something over a period of time and keeping it under systematic review through observations, checking and keeping a continuous record by deploying the monitoring cycle.

Therefore, to assess, evaluate and monitor
, evaluate and correct - more so than life skills - because no visible, observable or noticeable results are actually measurable. The only possible reference that we have to determine the quality (i.e. level of success) of our present coping mechanisms, are how we feel and the emotions that we experience.

When we unconditionally combine our emotions and feeling with defense mechanisms (mainly souring from our beliefs and sabotage programs), we will find it increasingly difficult to establish and sustain a sound, balanced or healthy inner landscape (i.e. our capability to truly and effectively cope or deal with the many adversities of life).
