Umwelt

We are the only one's responsible for and in control of our umwelt. Our umwelt is the foundation of our world view, the source of our personal truths, beliefs, values, norms, principles and the cumulative result of our self-actualization.

The concept Umwelt represents or indicate our personalenvironment” or “surrounding world” (i.e. fueling our consciousness). Umwelt is a compilation of our all our ideas, views, believes and the focus which lies at the very epicenter of our personal world. The concept of Umwelt could loosely be translated as a “self-focused world and reality”. Each individual has an unique and completely different umwelt, even though we might - and do - share the same physical or geographical environment and/or similar time-space experiences.

Each component of our umwelt has a meaning, purpose and exhibit our singular model of the world or - differently stated - our uncommon views of and beliefs about life. It is also our symbolic and philosophical ( semioticplugin-autotooltip__small plugin-autotooltip_bigA general philosophical theory of signs and symbols that deals especially with their function in both artificially constructed and natural languages and comprises syntactics, semantics and pragmatics. ) world, including all the meaningful and important aspects of the world which is real for us, for example… it can be water, food, shelter, potential threats or points of reference for navigation, the planets, atoms, earning a living, what makes us laugh, what fascinate us, …etc. We repeatedly create, reshape, tweak and re-invent our umwelt when we communicate and interact with the world around us. In essence, our umwelt represent our “functional circle” - mapped by the Identity Wheel - and which is directed, controlled and steered by our personal GPSplugin-autotooltip__small plugin-autotooltip_bigG • P • S

A much diluted and illustrative representation of the actual Human System of Life.

In general terms the abbreviation stands for the Global Positioning Satellite system that we use to “pin point” our geographical position on this planet of ours. However, melancholycountless forceshappiness

The concept umwelt states or indicate that our minds and the world - the environments in which we function - are inseparable from one another because it is our minds that interpret the world around us. As a result, each individual's Umwelt - unquestionably - are completely different, because of personalized interpretations and the uniqueness of the “experience history” of the individual. Thus, each person on this planet, regardless of gender, age, race or religion has an Umwelt, BUT no two individuals' Umwelten are the same, a phenomenon that makes the individualization and customizing of services of a personal nature an absolute necessity.

Umwelt also unites all the semiotic (symbolic and philosophical) processes of an individual into a unique Philosophy Of Life. Internally, each person is the sum of his/her different energy cycles, manifesting as observable actions and behaviours which require - in order for us to survive and prosper - that all inner world aspects (Identity Wheel segments 1 to 6) must work hand-in-hand cooperatively and in a symbiotic manner with our external world (Identity Wheel segments 7 to 12). When anything - whether stress, depression and/or environmental changes - disrupts the balanced energy flow of our umwelt, we will not operate, nor functions effectively, lose our harmonious environmental fit and become derailed, stuck or Burned Out (i.e. unable to actualize our potential optimally). But, when our semiotic processes operates in a healthy, balanced and self-determined manner… we exhibits goal-oriented, intentional and purposeful behaviours and actions (i.e. able to actualize our potential optimally).

UMWELT clearly states that with an unconscious set of mental filters (i.e. our Environmental Noise Filter) composed from our beliefs and many experiences. Each one of us interprets this same world, incident, event, circumstance, situation and/or environment completely different from one another, hence the “Truth is in the eye of the beholder” expression. This does not mean that there is no real “objective” truth… other than our access to it as mediated through our sensesplugin-autotooltip__small plugin-autotooltip_bigSenses

We often take our senses for granted and seldom - if ever - think about the tremendous impact that our have on our efficiency to deal with our environments (both our internal and external worlds). Our are the “conduit” through which we relate to and interact with our surroundings. Apart from this, our
, experiences, conditioning, prior beliefs, culture and plenty of other subjective factors. What it implies is, that it is extremely arrogant, incredibly presumptuous and terribly rude to push our version of the truth down the throats of others. Therefore, dealing with the truth should preferably be a process of “seeking together for…” rather than to - from an illusionary position of power - bully others to believe and act as we wish them to believe and act.

Ultimately, how we deal with the truth - especially in a coaching, support, therapeutic or healing situation - will be determine by the context of the situation, the atmosphere, climate and individuals involved.
