Contextualizing and Context Maintenance
Our daily lives consist of many different functional environments… a family environment, the school environment, our place of work, training, religion, …etc. Context and environment can be regarded - within the AltanaESP framework of services - as symbiotic synonyms which implies the variety of operational and functional areas of our life in which we need to interact, evolve, establish and sustain harmonious relationships, allowing us to pursue a meaningful and purposeful life1).
Environments are the “places or habitats” (i.e. a specific time and space) in which we - by choice - could deliver our contribution to make life just a bit more bearable - for ourselves and those around us - than it was before. Sadly though… the opposite is equally as possible and we might deliver - also by choice - a contribution to our present environment that might make life frustrating and quite unbearable for ourselves and others around us. When we disregard contextplugin-autotooltip__small plugin-autotooltip_bigThe climate or circumstances that form the foundation for an event, statement or idea and in terms of which it can be fully understood. , the latter almost always tends to manifest more prominently and result in disharmony more often than harmony, mainly as an outcome of psyche wounds and because things aren't sufficientlyplugin-autotooltip__small plugin-autotooltip_bigI.e. adequate for the purpose ...enough (sufficient proof; sufficient protection)... in such a way that its existence leads to the occurrence of a given event or the existence of a given thing. contextualized.
However, things ain't always as simple as they may appear at first glance. When we want to establish, obtain and maintain a harmonious environmental fit, the eventual “harmony” of our interactions not only depends on the power of now; but also on the “health” of our personal umwelt. Thus, in the NOW everything may seem to be working fine, but our umweltplugin-autotooltip__small plugin-autotooltip_bigOur beliefs, points of view, perspectives, attitudes, mindset, unconscious motives, feelings, emotions, experiences, ...etc. impact on our current reality, which can either nourish, enhance, prevent, demolish or implode productive interactions and a harmonious environmental fit.
Different environments require different responses from us, as “dictated” by the context of that particular environment to sustain a harmonious environmental fit and maintain a healthy balance in life.
Therefore… The main focus is on the interactive relationship that exists between people and they're
environmentplugin-autotooltip__small plugin-autotooltip_bigImplication of Environment:
Environment means anything and everything that surrounds us and the conditions in which a person, animal or plant lives or operates. It can be living (organic), natural and/or man-made things. It also includes pollution, noise, physical, chemical and other natural forces.
because they are considered to be inseparable and dealt with as a unit. As people and the environment interact, development and growth can proceed along many different pathways, depending on choices made, decisions taken and how the one influences the other.
A contextual focus is on human intention, processes and change in the context of the bigger picture, rather than on context as merely a setting (environment) for action. Thus, context - at the very least - always pivot around…
- manifest behaviour or action, for example, taking notes during a lecture or workshop;
- internal processes, such as emotions and feeling experienced (e.g. nervousness about an examination or pending evaluation);
- and the social meaning and/or environmental contributions or value, such as being professionally successful.
