Explanations and descriptions of services delivered by the AltanaESP Network

The core of all services offered by the AltanaESP Network can be described as the active promoting and encouragement to identify, establish, calibrate and sustain the natural cycles, rhythms and patterns (i.e. energy flow) of functions, processes and activities. This “natural flow approach” is adopted by the AltanaESP Network, mainly because… the self-discipline necessary to succeed as authentic leader in your field of expertise, primarily source from an ability to skillfully identify, manage, coordinate and direct these natural rhythms, patterns and cycles of actions and activities to achieve productive outcomes.

Essentially true leaders are not those who strive to be first in everything they do, but true leaders are those who are first to strive and give their all for the success of the idea, concept or goal. True leaders are the first to see the need, envision a strategy or “the plan“, and are able enough to empower others to take productive actions. By the strength of a leader’s commitment, the productive power of cooperation and co-creation are exponentially unleashed!

All AltanaESP Network Services are Characterized by a Series of Challenges

Regardless the objective, result or intended outcome of the various services offered within the AltanaESP Network, all network services – to a lesser or greater extent – subtly challenge participants… not to do something different, funny, to shock or confuse people; but, to establish a proactive, cooperative and co-creating habit or attitude, which – in the end – is vital for the “survival” of anyndividual, group, team and/or company regardless the persistent confrontations of change. Thus, at the foundation of all AltanaESP Network services, the following habits are encouraged…

Critical thinking is a skill to be mastered, not a subject nor knowledge to be taught.

All AltanaESP Network services (e.g. assessments, information seminars, participative workshops, courses, …etc.) are structured to cultivate critical thinking in people. Participants are encouraged to question the status qua of every idea, every concept and every application, allowing them to fully articulate their own ideas in relation to those as collectively valued in the world.

The notion that critical thinking can only take place once a certain level of expertise is obtained, simply isn’t true! The smallest child can be encouraged to question and guided to realize that knowledge is to be continuously constructed, and should never be regarded as a once off pre-set and defined curriculum.

The foundation of collaboration and focusing on processes is the zone of proximal development; a concept first formulated by Vygotsky (1930).

Zone of Proximal Development‘ simply means that there is a process attached to learning, improvising, creativity, problem solving and trouble shooting. These processes must be recognized, supported and there are phases in that some process phases require intervention and other phases do not.

The idea behind the ‘zone of proximal development‘ is that as an effective learner and thinker, an individual must be engage in every phase and deal with the challenges that involve both supported and independent learning or thinking.

Technology is the key here, as so many new tools, such as blogs, wikis, and micro blogs, allow individuals to retain and represent their independent thinking and development through digital captures and posts. At the same time, they’re able to remain part of a class, community, team, group and simultaneously participate in a wider global community via the Internet.

That is, allowing individuals to realize and understand how to learn and think individually, as well as part of a group and in a much wider context.

The “second nature” ability of a person is to – both overtly and covertly – monitor processes and correct derailments SMART-ly. As and when necessary.

The success of the monitoring and correcting processes, depends largely on our capability and habit to effectively accommodate…

  • process design that outlines the goals, time lines, resources, technology and people involved.
  • frequent discussions of the process with others, whether individually, in groups, emails or online. Thus, to intentionally invite comments and input from everybody involved.
  • collection and processing of feedback from as many different sources as is practically possible.
